Fix Intel and Ryzen CPU running stuck at 0.79 GHz Without Throttle Stop and sudden shutdown

Your computer might unexpectedly have your CPU dropped to 0.79 GHz during gameplay, which can be very annoying. Cooling issues, BIOS Incorrect configuration and power supply issues may be forcing your CPU to throttle down. In this article, you’ll learn how to diagnose and repair the issue.
Many of use posted on several forums that by doing windows upgrade, loosing the screw under C key, resetting power, unplugging batteries and many other remedies had fixed CPU running or stuck at 0.79 GHz. But these not the correct solutions, these led that issue fixed just because of there might automatically reset when they reset or remove battery, upgrading windows, etc.  I am here tell you the correct reason and the solution to fix Intel and Ryzen CPU running at 0.79 GHz  Without Throttle Stop and sudden shutdown on any Dell, Asus, Lenovo, MSI, etc. laptop.
So, let's begin-

The Reason

1. CPU throttling and thermal throttling

The all other reasons on the web are just a small reason about Intel and Ryzen CPU running at 0.79 GHz. They aren't true, I had tested them all and want to show you all the correct reasons begin CPU running at 0.79 GHz. Now coming back to the topic, CPU throttling and thermal throttling are often used interchangeably to describe a processor which is operating slower than expected, and are generally associated with systems that are running too hot. Though this is not totally off the mark, it's also not entirely correct. They are very closely related in this regard, but there's an important distinction to be made between the two. But why this happens? The reason behind this is your faulty power plan and thermal throttling is because of bad cooling system, we will know how to fix it in this article below.

2. Wrong BIOS Configurations

Your BIOS contains settings that can be adjusted, based on the model of your CPU. But some times, some configurations set in a wrong manner like BD PROCHOT. But don't disable it from ThrottleStop as it caused sudden shutdown on high temperature.

3. Cooling Problem

If your computer's CPU temp is beyond its ideal operating temperature, your computer’s cooling system might be defective and it might be the reason behind Intel and Ryzen CPU running at 0.79 GHz

The Solution

Fix Intel and Ryzen CPU running at 0.79 GHz  Without Throttle Stop and sudden shutdown on any Dell, Asus, Lenovo, MSI, etc. laptop with these few methods.

1. Set Power Plan to High Performance [Stop CPU Throttling]

Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options

You will see three power plan- Power Saver, Balanced and High Performance.

The Power Saver and Balanced modes will both throttle your CPU to save power, lower temperatures, and reduce overall system noise. Choose the High Performance option instead to fix CPU Throttling.

2. Change Heat Sink Past and clean the CPU Fan once in 6 or 12 months

The CPU is overheating due to very old or ineffective thermal paste or might cluster of dust acquired your CPU fan and causes poor airflow in the system.

a)Clean your CPU Fan and the whole system regular and keep it dust free to get it's full potential.

b)Change your Heatsink paste or thermal paste regularly once in a period of 6 months or 12 months.

to stop your CPU being thermally throttled.

3. Restore your BIOS to default (Disable BD PROCHOT) Real Solutions

In this step I will finally tell you how to disable BD PROCHOT without Throttle Stop and sudden shutdown issue because when we use throttle stop to disable BD Prochot, it cause sudden shutdown on high temp. But with this method it will not.

How to Reset BIOS to default? How to Fix sudden shutdown after BD Prochot disable

Just restore your BIOS settings to default by entering the BIOS by Pressing F2 (It vary with your Laptop's manufacturer) and choosing the reset settings to default.

You have to search on Google to know how to reset your PC's BIOS to default. You can follow this format to search it - how to reset bios to default [Your Laptop's manufacturer like Dell, Lenovo, HP, etc.] and choose the official website your manufacturer.

I will guarantee that it disable BD PROCHOT without Throttle Stop and will not cause sudden shutdown. Do the bios reset always when you see the CPU is locked at 36% frequency or 0.79 GHz.

You can see in the screenshot that in Throttle Stop, BD PROCHOT is enabled but despite CPU is running at full frequency because BD Prochot is disabled in BIOS.

4. Unplug and Plug again your Adapter regularly Real Solutions

Many of you have plugged your adapter from months, But recommend that you should regularly unplug and plug your adapter. Remember to twist your adapter cable end while plugging it to the charging hole. (Marked in red circle in the image below)
